What makes the raids distinct from the patches

It's really all in the details. We don't tackle one patch at an time. There are always various wheels turning, and the head-start you can get on that wheel depends on the size of the wheel. For something like 7.2 It was developed either when the original Legion was getting read

What is the level of care the team takes to follow WOTLK Gold  the plan laid out? Of course, for 7.2.5 it's clear what's coming out, but for ones later on, are you guys partly playing it by ear and observing how things play out?

It's really all in the details. We don't tackle one patch at an time. There are always various wheels turning, and the head-start you can get on that wheel depends on the size of the wheel. For something like 7.2 It was developed either when the original Legion was getting ready to launch and maybe even some time before it.

For something similar to 7.2.5. the team who is working on it is a bit more flexible. We're able to respond more to the requirements of the game such as the case with a specific modification to a particular class mechanic, we can make those changes. If it's just selecting the appropriate time to allow the Tomb of Sargeras to open We make the necessary changes and also adding the content.

I've discussed the Chromie scenario in the past. One of the things about the Chromie scenario is that, when we were building it, we were deciding when you can run the scenario and after hearing lots of feedback from people about how certain content in 7.2 was a bit sloppy, or perhaps it was a little more gated. This definitely played into the choices of how Chromie was ultimately played, that is, there's no timing-gating.

What makes the raids distinct from the patches made with regard to your development process? As compared to the past the raids aren't closely timed to patches as they were before. They come a little after. How has that impacted the development of the patches themselves?

It's been liberating. We've been thinking about our game and how we release parts of the game a bit differently. The past was when it was more discrete patches. A patch is only "this much" content, and you get it on the date you want, and everything that's in there is buy WOW WOTLK Classic Gold available. As we build content, it's a bit earlier, if we've got the Tomb of Sargeras in the game prior to it being complete, it's the perfect the time to get in the Tomb of Sargeras. Then we can release that raid or any type of content that's been time-gated at the date that makes sense. We don't want to make it available too early.
